Award-Winning Natalie Jean’s New Single “My Body” an Earnest Battle Cry for Women
“This is exactly what we feared when Roe was struck down. In more than 20 states, Trump Abortion Bans are preventing doctors from providing basic medical care. Women are bleeding out in parking lots, turned away from emergency rooms, losing their ability to ever have children again. Survivors of rape and incest are being told they cannot make decisions about what happens next to their bodies. And now women are dying. These are the consequences of Donald Trump’s actions.” — VP Kamala Harris on women’s pressing need to control decisions on their own bodies
Natalie Jean, an award winning, multi-nominated singer/songwriter, is a Billboard, iTunes, Apple Music, and Amazon Charting Artist who is also a two-time Gold Medal Winner at the Global Music Awards.
Jean has a new catchy and vitally important message in her new single. To date, she has sung and written for many genres, including Jazz, Pop, R&B, Blues, World, Rock, Country, Americana, Inspirational, Adult Contemporary, Alternative, and, Dance.
But, her new country/pop single ‘My Body’ speaks on behalf of women everywhere.
“I stand here with fire in my eyes/no one’s going to tell me how to live my life/this body is mine my choice to make/I’m the one who knows what’s at stake/they can try to chain me/hold me down but I’m rising up/won’t turn around/I’ve got the power in my hands/a warrior making my own plans…I am fierce I am strong I will not be overthrown/this is my body” — ‘My Body’ lyrics
Jean and her music fans are inspired by the message of her new single, which is available on all major streaming platforms, as she explains, “I want us women to remember who we are. Powerful, fierce, and strong. The message of my new song is ‘We shall not be overthrown,’ and that we need to continue to fight for our rights.”
And, the protection of those rights is even more crucial, since the overturn of Roe vs Wade. With the upcoming election and women’s rights on the ballot, Jean feels it’s paramount for us (both women and men) to choose politicians who support the theme that underscores the song, ‘My Body.’
“So, hear me loud and clear/this message that I send/I live my life on my terms/from beginning to the end/this body’s mine to cherish to love and to defend/I am the author of my own story/and my spirit will not bend/my body my voice and I’ll scream it out loud — this is my Body…” — ‘My Body’ lyrics
Impassioned Jean adds: “Bottom line, we need to re-establish Roe vs Wade. Here is what I see: pro-lifers are allowed to choose between their life and the fetus. If it is between the mother living or dying, she has a right to choose to end her life. But for the mothers that want to choose to live to see another day…the conservatives want to make the decision for them. This is all about power over women who don’t share their same viewpoint. They need to see their bias and nonsense. I humbly but proudly suggest that this song needs to be an anthem and the call for women, right now.”
