With New Representation by Plaza 1 Management, Novillera Olga Casado will Compete at Feria de Olivenza 2025
With the support of friends and Plaza1 management, Olga Casado’s fearless passion puts her on the verge of stardom.
The Feria de Olivenza 2025 will be held 7–9 March with 4 stirring bullfighting shows — “2 novilladas with picadors, and 2 grandiose bullfights.” The event will be highlighted by the return of the legendary Morante de la Puebla, and also by Spanish novillera, Olga Casado, who’s having a meteoric ascension in the bullfighting world.
A novillada with picadors is a bullfight that includes mounted picadors, and novilladas are practice fights for young bulls and aspiring bullfighters like Casado, who used to train at the Bullfighting School Yiyo de Madrid.
Most recently, Casado who has been feted by various organizations, including the Morisco Awards of the Taurino Club of Cehegin, and the National Tauromachia show, appeared in December at the Vistalegre Festival. The festival was organized by the Community of Madrid to benefit those affected by the DANA in Valencia. Young Casado, who follows in the footsteps of legendary Cristina Sánchez, fought a challenging bull from Garcigrande and was triumphantly carried off on the shoulders of enthusiastic fans.
Speaking to El Mundo, Casado said of her famous forerunner Cristina Sánchez, “She is an absolute reference, my role model. She has achieved a lot in the world of bullfighting, she managed to become the best female bullfighter in history. Now, I feel like a bullfighter, and I have to be judged as one. I have said it several times, the bull does not distinguish between men and women. I fight to be an example for society, to break down barriers and to prove to myself and to the whole world that it is enough to believe in yourself and work for what you dream of. And to show that dreams, for the most part, do come true.”
And, Olga Casado now has a new management team to help her realize those dreams, with Plaza 1 suggesting: “We will put all our love and effort into helping Olga develop her talent as a bullfighter and grow both personally and professionally,” with Simón Casas, adding, “The programming concept for 2025 is that Olga will fight in mixed bullfights just as some leading bullfighters did in the past…I’m convinced Olga is going to be one of the big pulls of this season.”
The Feria de Olivenza, which is traditionally held in March during the first weekend of the month, is the heart of the town’s cultural life, attracting thousands of visitors and aficionados from across Spain, Portugal, and other European countries.
Casado, who had 35 bullfights, all of them without horses last year, will make her debut with picadors on Sunday, March 9 in Olivenza, and she concludes, “I fight to be the best female bullfighter of my generation.”
Lastly, Olga Casado credits Nelson Mandela with his encouraging quote: “I learned that courage wasn’t the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave is not the one who does not feel afraid, but the one who conquers that fear.”
